Location

Set in the heart of the Normandy bocage and yet just 2h30 / 3-stops by direct train from Paris this property is located in the quiet village of Villiers-Fossard (50680). The village is 7km outside the capital city/prefecture of the Manche department, Saint-Lô, and you will find all the facilities in Saint-Lô that you would expect in a city of 19,000 inhabitants …. and many more! In addition to the significant commercial centre there are many schools, colleges and sports clubs. Saint-Lô is also home to one of the largest hospitals in Normandy – Centre Hospitalier Mémorial France/Etats-Unis de Saint-Lô.  

Saint-Lô is in the centre of Manche, in the middle of the Saint-Lois bocage, 57 km west of Caen, 78 km south of Cherbourg and 119 km north east of Rennes. It has a long and rich history going back beyond medieval times. Its castellated walls and ramparts are a reminder of those times but it also played a major role in the allied advances following D-Day in June 1944. Evidence of the heavy bombing of the city in 1944 can still be seen in the sympathetic restoration of its magnificent gothic cathedral.
