There can be few more culturally rich, scenic or historic areas of France than Normandy. In addition, it is famed for its abundant array of shellfish, oysters, dairy products, Calvados brandy and\u00a0<\/span>cheeses. Much of the famed French cuisine is based on the wonderful food products of Normandy.<\/span><\/p>\n There are too many places of interest nearby to list them all here but key ones include the UNESCO world heritage site of Mont St Michel (1 hour), the D-Day landing beaches (30-60 mins), the medieval city of Bayeux (40 mins) with its famous tapestry.<\/span><\/p>\n Normandy is far more than just the birthplace of William the Conqueror and all associated history. There are hundreds of miles of beautiful unspoilt beaches where you can do every water sport imaginable or, if your prefer, absolutely nothing!<\/p>\n There are hundreds of kilometres of cycle paths that take you along the beautiful rivers of Manche & Calvados or along the cliff tops above the D-Day landing beaches from Arromanches to Grandcamp Maisy.<\/p>\n With the rolling countryside and countless bridal trails it is easy to understand why Normandy is one of France\u2019s key equestrian areas.\u00a0<\/span>Few French regions revere the horse as much as Normandy and horse-riding is deeply woven into the Norman culture.
